About Us

The creation, formation and incorporation of MCDT in 2003 came about as a result of an extensive and thorough 15 month Community Planning process (see Maltby Community Plan). This process identified the need to:

·         Create a self sustaining local company capable of delivering economic and social regeneration.

This is achieved by the provision of managed and serviced offices (13) and being the facilities centre for 9 local community and voluntary groups. The Trust focuses on supporting community and voluntary groups in Maltby not individuals.

The non profit distributing business model adopted is that of a Private Limited Company; Limited by Guarantee with members who either live or work in Maltby and its five surrounding parishes and are aged over 18 years. Member’s liability is limited to £1.00 which will only be called upon if the company is wound up because it cannot pay its debts.

The company is a full member of the Development Trusts Association.
